Annual Self Care Week returns for 2017

October 12, 2017

Self Care Week is an annual national awareness week that focusses on establishing support for self-care across communities, families and generations. It will be running again this year on 13-19th November 2017.

The campaign aims to provide people-facing organisations with a focus to hold a targeted campaign to support people to take care of their health and wellbeing and improve their understanding of doing so.

The theme this year is engaging and empowering people to look after their own health and the title is Embracing self care for life, which is hoped to be suitable for self-care messages for all ages, gender and allows the flexibility to focus on physical health, mental wellbeing, or both.

The Self Care Forum website provides downloadable resources and ideas on how pharmacy teams can plan for Self Care Week. You can also be added to the mailing list to receive news of Self Care Week by emailing selfcare@selfcareforum.org

Healthy Living Pharmacy teams may wish to host a health awareness event/campaign on self care, therefore the resources and training available from the Self Care Forum may benefit those wishing to engage with members of the public on this subject. More information on hosting a health awareness event/campaigns can be found on the PSNC health promotion ideas page.
