Contractor Update: Response to price concession requests received

Contractor Update: Response to price concession requests received

December 8, 2017

UPDATE: Final list published.

This afternoon (Friday 8th December), following repeated pressure from PSNC to the Department of Health (DH), we received a list of proposed concession prices for 52 of the 67 outstanding requests for November concessions. We are, as is normal, considering the proposals and will respond to DH as soon as possible on Monday so they can be considered alongside November’s payment in the usual way.

In view of the extreme pressures at present and the concerns of all contractors about November, we are advising you of this now. We will provide further details as soon as we can via our website and email news alerts.

We are also in dialogue about concession prices for December.

PSNC is continuing to work to ensure that the DH understands the problems and risks if pharmacies are not able to obtain medicines for patients in a timely manner, and to press for better systems to address the impact of high price rises.
