CPPE launches new resource for prescribing pharmacists

March 3, 2017

The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has launched a new resource intended for pharmacist prescribers, Prescribing: maintaining competence and confidence

The interactive PDF guide is intended to help prescribers identify their learning and development needs by creating an action plan to address those needs. It also helps prescribers access key resources to keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date and gather evidence of their competency to prescribe.

The guide is linked to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s prescribing competency framework and is divided into three parts:

  • Part 1 explains how to use a competency framework as a learning tool;
  • Part 2 contains a comprehensive list of resources focussing on the prescribing competencies; and
  • Part 3 contains a list of resources relevant to practitioners in specialist roles where non-medical prescribing is common.

Hard copies of the guide will be delivered to every pharmacist registered with CPPE as a prescriber week commencing 6th March 2017.
