Multiclix and Softclix lancets removed from January 2018 Drug Tariff

January 11, 2018

Following advanced notice of deletion Multiclix lancets 0.3mm/30gauge 204 lancets and Softclix XL lancets 0.8mm/21gauge 50 lancets have been removed from the Drug Tariff as of 1st January 2018.

Appliances can only be prescribed on NHS prescriptions if the product is listed in Part IX (the appliances section) of the Drug Tariff. As these items are no longer listed in the Drug Tariff prescriptions for these items would be disallowed.

If you receive prescriptions for these items they should be referred back to the prescriber.

Information on important changes to the Drug Tariff can be found in The Drug Tariff Preface. See our Dispensing Factsheet: The Drug Tariff Preface which explains the importance of checking the Preface monthly.
