One month left to make CPPE AKI pledge

February 10, 2016

The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education’s (CPPE) final challenge in the acute kidney injury (AKI) learning campaign – ‘Make your pledge’ – finishes on 10th March 2016 and pharmacy professionals working in community pharmacy are encouraged to participate.

For community pharmacy professionals the suggested pledge is to take part in a hydration audit. This also fits in with the contractual requirement that community pharmacy contractors must compete a clinical audit by 31st March 2016.

An audit has been developed by the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service medicines use and safety team, which targets all patients taking antibacterials for a urinary tract infection or those who want advice about urinary symptoms, with hydration advice. The audit is freely available on PharmOutcomes for all community pharmacy contractors in England.

Pharmacy professionals can make their pledge on the Think Kidneys website.
