PHE launches ‘Nutrition on the Go’ campaign

March 6, 2018

Public Health England (PHE) has today launched the ‘Nutrition on the Go’ campaign to help cut people’s excessive calorie intake.

Whilst calling on food manufacturers to cut calories in a range of items including ready meals and ‘food-to-go’ products, PHE has simultaneously launched an advertising campaign to encourage people to be more aware of what they are eating. The campaign has been given the tagline ‘400-600-600’ to give simple but clear messaging about the number of calories adults should be aiming to consume at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The campaign forms part of the ‘One You‘ initiative, which aims to inform, energise and engage millions of adults, especially those in the 40-60 ‘mid-life’ age group, to make changes to improve their own health by eating well, moving more, drinking less and quitting smoking.

Community pharmacy teams can access a range of free resources from PHE’s campaign resource centre to support this campaign.

Healthy Living Pharmacy teams may wish to host a health awareness event/campaign on healthy eating as part of their ongoing health promotion activities. More information on hosting a health awareness event/campaign on healthy eating can be found on the PSNC health promotion ideas page.
