Promoting flu vaccinations: patient communication materials updated

August 24, 2017

PSNC has today published updated versions of our patient communication materials to help community pharmacy contractors and their teams to promote the Flu Vaccination Service.

To support pharmacy staff in matching the incredible success of last year’s service, PSNC has once again made available a wide range of resources to help with communications and marketing. There are posters, flyers and letters aimed at encouraging those who are eligible for the NHS flu jab to speak to their local pharmacy team for more information.

Whilst many of the resources were available in previous years, they have all been updated to relate specifically to this year’s service specification. The resources are replicated below, but can also be found at:

Resources for LPCs can be found here.

PSNC Briefing 066/17: Services Factsheet – Eligible groups for the Flu Vaccination Service 2017/18 has also been published today, which pharmacy teams may find useful to display and use as a ‘quick reference’ to assist with determining if a patient is eligible for a vaccination.

Producing your own promotional materials

Community pharmacy contractors are reminded that if they decide to develop their own marketing materials to promote the service they must ensure they comply with the requirements of the Terms of Service relating to promotion of services funded by the NHS.

In addition, if contractors choose to use the NHS identity on their marketing materials, they must ensure that the revised guidance (published in January 2017) is adhered to when producing, updating or replacing designs.
