PSNC holds discussions to inform funding negotiations at May meeting

June 3, 2019

The PSNC Committee met recently, with a significant portion of the meeting allocated to detailed discussions to inform the community pharmacy funding negotiations.

The Committee heard a confidential briefing on the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) negotiations and later considered its positions on particular topics that are due to be addressed in those negotiations.

PSNC’s May meeting was held on the 22nd and 23rd of the month, and other key agenda items included:

  • Consideration of remuneration for Serious Shortage Protocols;
  • Responding to NHS and General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) consultations;
  • Reviewing vaccination provision;
  • NHS IT updates on EPS Phase 4 and Real-time Exemption Checking;
  • Consideration of current funding issues;
  • LPC support, including the creation of a data dashboard; and
  • Public affairs work, in particular the development of ‘policy asks’.

Guest speakers from Pharmacy2U were invited to address the Committee after these discussions. The speakers gave a presentation on how the Pharmacy2U business model works now and will develop in the future.

Further information is available in our Summary of the May PSNC meeting.
