Quality Payments: Only one week until the review point – are you meeting the gateway criteria?

February 8, 2019

The review date of the Quality Payments Scheme is now only one week away (Friday 15th February 2019) and community pharmacy contractors are encouraged to download the weekly NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) gateway criteria report (this has been updated today) and check if they are meeting the four gateway criteria, which the reports provides information on. This report details contractors who have been assessed, using national datasets, as meeting four of the five gateway criteria: NHS website; Advanced Services; Community Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire (CPPQ); and NHSmail (due to cyber security reasons, the report does not contain confirmation on compliance with the Warranted Environment Specification gateway criterion, that has been separately confirmed to contractors via email from the NHSBSA).

Currently, with one week to go until the review date, 82% of contractors are meeting the four gateway criteria on the NHSBSA weekly gateway criteria report.

Gateway criterion Number of contractors currently meeting the gateway criterion %  of contractors currently meeting the gateway criterion
NHS website 10,390 89.5%
Advanced Services 11,290 97%
CPPQ 10,751 93%
NHSmail 10,211 88%

Contractors who are not meeting the four criteria on the weekly NHSBSA gateway criteria report are encouraged to act as soon as possible to ensure to do so by Friday 15th February 2019. Contractors are reminded of the following resources which are available to assist them with meeting the gateway criteria:

Further information on how to meet the gateway criteria can also be found at: psnc.org.uk/quality

Contractors should be aware that the national datasets used for the NHSBSA gateway criteria report  are updated weekly therefore any changes made in the week, will not show on the report until it is updated on the following Friday. For example, if a pharmacy’s NHS website profile is updated on Monday 11th February 2019 this will not show on the report on the NHSBSA website until the updated report is published on Friday 15th February 2019.
