Single Activity Fee to be set at £1.25 from April

March 21, 2017

The community pharmacy Single Activity Fee (SAF) will be set at £1.25 per item from April 2017, the Department of Health has confirmed.

The SAF incorporates and replaces the Professional Fee, Practice Payments, Repeat Dispensing Fee and EPS Monthly Allowances.

The fee was introduced as part of the community pharmacy funding imposition for 2016/17 and 2017/18.

For December 2016 to March 2017 the SAF has been set to £1.13 per item. It will rise in 2017/18 to a level of £1.25 per item, in order to ensure the correct delivery of funding for the year.

The Department of Health has confirmed today that the £1.25 fee will be included in the April Drug Tariff.
