Public Health Rotherham

Public Health became part of the Council from April 1 2013.

Public health is about helping people to keep healthy and to avoid illness. This means we promote healthy lifestyles, such as keeping a healthy weight through eating well and physical activity, drinking sensibly and avoiding smoking.

We also seek to protect the health of people in Rotherham by offering vaccination and screening programmes and promoting safe sex. It is about the health of the whole community rather than that of a specific individual.
