Varenicline (Champix) PGD Training Dates Available

Dear Colleague

This is to notify you of the forthcoming Varenicline (Champix) PGD Training course taking place in January. The course is open to all registered pharmacists based at Somerset pharmacies, and places will be offered on a first-come-first served basis. There is a maximum number of 40 places, so please ensure you book early.

Further details on the course which is being delivered by Somerset County Council, the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE), and Somerset LPC are outlined below, along with the booking information.

Varenicline (Champix) PGD Training
For registered pharmacists based at Somerset pharmacies
Duration: 3 hours
The Varenicline (Champix) PGD training will equip pharmacists with the knowledge and skills for the use of Champix as an aid to stop smoking and where it fits in the local stop smoking treatment programme. The items covered include:
1) The PGD documents and supporting documents
2) Varenicline use and confidence around counselling
3) Payment processes
4) Any other relevant information
Training date and times – Wednesday 17th January, arrival from 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start. Finish at approximately 9.30pm.

Venue – Taunton Vale Sports Club, Gipsy Lane, Taunton, TA2 6LL. Light refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.

There is no charge for the training, however cancellations will be dealt with in line with the Public Health Training Cancellation Policy which details that a minimum of 5 working days’ notice must be given not to incur a £50 charge for non-attendance.
Non-attendance on the day will incur the £50 charge as standard.
