Service ID

Description

From January 2018, Living Well’s smoking cessation service will include a recommendation of starting Champix for potentially appropriate clients. Where a referral is made by Living Well it is expected that Living Well will deliver the behavioural support and the supply of medication will be assessed and made by commissioned community pharmacies. This will be delivered under a Champix (Varenicline) PGD as part of the core Stop Smoking Services across Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton supported by the Greater Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee (GM LPC). The Service is available to patients who are registered with the Living Well Smoking Cessation Service and have been issued a letter of referral to the community pharmacies.
