Services Database Community Pharmacy Telephone Interpreting Service Pilot

Service ID

Description

The Telephone Interpreting Service pilot (the Pilot) is to specifically support in areas with
challenging demographics and where language is noted as a barrier to accessing community
pharmacy and the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS). The aim of the Pilot is to
support pharmacy teams improve access to services including CPCS which in turn will support
capacity within general practice.

This Pilot has been identified through discussions with General Practice providers of asylum and
homeless practices and through feedback from the WY CPCS Steering Group. Participating
pharmacies will have access to a telephone interpreting service, and it is expected that this will
make CPCS and other community pharmacy services and support more accessible to those
patients that would benefit services but struggle to access due to language barriers.
