Description

The aim of this service is to provide the supply of emergency hormonal contraception within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse or a failure of a contraceptive method under a patient group direction and chlamydia screening to young women aged 21 years and under.

Please note, previously this service included chlamydia screening, however the chlamydia screening aspect of the service has been decommissioned. It is now an EHC-only service.

All pharmacists delivering this service must have completed additional training from CPPE on Emergency Hormonal Contraception, Sexual Health and Safeguarding and shall attend local training events.
