Aims and objectives of service

a) To improve access to emergency contraception and sexual health advice through community pharmacy.

b) To reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies.

c) To advise patients on the available methods of regular contraception and where they can go to access the services.

d) To increase the client’s knowledge of the prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Infections, the risks associated with STIs and how to protect themselves from STIs.

a) To discuss the importance of getting their sexual partners to be screened

e) To refer clients who may have been at risk of STIs to an appropriate support service.

f) To broaden the local network of contraceptive and sexual health services.
