Description

An atrial  fibrillation (AF) scanning initiative which was funded by Alliance Healthcare's Alphega. The pilot ran across six Kent pharmacies.

The AF Screening Service provided patients with a consultation which gathered information about their lifestyle and current medical conditions and screened them for AF. Patients who had AF detected then had an electrocardiogram, which gave a more detailed picture of their heart rhythm and electrical activity.

There were four main stages to the service:

Stage 1 – Identification
Stage 2 – Engagement
Stage 3 – Measurements
Stage 4 – Feedback and support

This was not a commissioned service.
