Services Database Influenza Vaccination Community Pharmacy Enhanced Service 2014-15 (Across the East Anglia Area – 3 LPCs Involved)
Please note this service is commissioned across East Anglia by the East Anglia Area Team. Therefore, the following LPCs have the same seasonal influenza vaccination service in their areas:
- Cambridgeshire & Peterborough LPC
- Norfolk LPC
- Suffolk LPC
The service has only been added onto the Services Database under this entry to avoid duplication.
The aim of the service is to provide influenza immunisation for patients in East Anglia over 18 and under 65 years of age to the following groups:
- at risk groups;
- pregnant women; or
- non professional carers.
Patients must be resident in Norfolk, Suffolk or Cambridgeshire or registered with a GP in one of these counties.

The pharmacy contractor will ensure that any pharmacist who is involved in administering a vaccine has successfully completed a training course that meets the requirements of the National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training (published by the Health Protection Agency). The pharmacist can access resuscitation update via e-learning module, PHE e-learning module (On-line immunisation training modules is available Skills for Health Core Learning and NPA e-learning module.
The pharmacist has completed and passed a recognised Basic Life Support (BLS) training course in the past 3 years. If this training was more than twelve months before the start of this years’ service then the pharmacist must have undertaken and passed an Update Basic Life Support Training programme.
It is recommended that pharmacists providing this service should have an up to date hepatitis B vaccination.
