Description
Pharmacies will provide access to sterile needles and syringes, and associated materials, for example condoms, citric acid and swabs as well as sharps containers for return of used equipment. Pharmacies will also provide safe disposal of used equipment returned by the service user, and will promote safe injecting practice to the user as well as the encouragement to switch to non-injecting methods of drug taking.
Advice and information on sexual health and sexually transmitted infections, HIV, hepatitis C transmission and hepatitis A and B immunisation will also be provided.
