Description

The pharmacy contractor will stock a locally agreed range of specialist medicines and will make a commitment to ensure that users of this service have prompt access to these medicines during normal contractual opening hours.

The pharmacist will provide information and advice to the user, carer and/or clinician when required. They may also refer to specialist centres, support groups or other health and social care professionals where appropriate e.g. local palliative care teams.

Training

The regular pharmacist(s) must complete the CPPE training pack - Palliative Care.

The pharmacy team must attend appropriate training and follow-up meetings to promote service development and update their knowledge if requested to do so by the Commissioner.
