Description

The Pharmacy+ Clinic service, will provide advice and support to patients on the management of certain, specified, minor ailments with self-care education and, when necessary, the supply of medicine(s) from a formulary; for those people who would have otherwise accessed health services for a prescription. Medicines will be supplied free for patients exempt from prescription charges or who hold a valid prepayment certificate; patients who pay for prescriptions will have to either pay for the product supplied or pay the national prescription charge, current at the time of sale, whichever is the cheaper.

Patients can be introduced to the scheme in the following three ways:

  1. Referral by a GP Practice or other healthcare professional;
  2. Referral by pharmacy staff; or
  3. Self-referral in to the scheme
