Description

Pharmacies that are accredited as Healthy Living Pharmacies (HLPs) will offer blood pressure checks to members of the public. This is to encompass blood pressure testing both for case finding, detection and management to aid medicines optimisation with respect to concordance with medicines taking.

This service is intended to support:

  • the identification of adults aged 18 years and over with possible high blood pressure who are not pregnant;
  • patients who are existing hypertensives - where potential medicine compliance concerns are identified via a Medicies Use Review conducted by a pharmacist; and
  • existing patients with hypertension who have not had their blood pressure checked at their surgeyr in the preceding nine (or more) months.
