Description

The pharmacy contractor will hold a specified amount of palliative care medicines and will be able to supply clinicians, patients and carers with the specialist medicines on the presentation of an NHS prescription.

The pharmacist will be available to offer professional advice to patients and carers on the medicines dispensed and their use within palliative care.

The Pharmacy contractor is responsible and accountable for ensuring that each person who delivers the service from the pharmacy is competent to do so. The mechanism by which this competency must be demonstrated is through the Declaration of Competency model hosted on the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) website.
