Description

The pharmacist is required to supervise the consumption of medicine prescribed to the patient, for the purposes of dependency and/or addiction to ensure the entire dose is taken as directed. Common medicines which may have to be supervised include methadone and buprenorphine.
The aim of this service is to reduce the harms associated with drug-taking to the service user and on the wider society. The service user will be given help, support and signposting to additional services in a non-judgemental and confidential service.

Training

There are no specific training requirements however, all staff involved in the delivery of this service should be competent, have read and understood the SLA and be trained on all associated activities. The pharmacist is required to sign the SLA and return it to CGL. 1 Lamb Street, Coventry CV1 4AE
