Primary Care Networks (PCNs)

This year’s PQS qualifying points for PCN engagement relate to achieving the over 65 flu target and business continuity.
Detailed guidance from the PSNC on what needs to be done can be found here.
The two key actions are:
  • engagement with the PCN clinical lead and constituent community pharmacies within your PCN on reaching the over 65 flu target
  • engagement with the PCN clinical lead and constituent community pharmacies within your PCN on business continuity plans
The approximate value of the engagement for the lead PCN pharmacist is £2,640 (band 4) and for constituent pharmacies £1,200 (band 4).

Your PCN lead pharmacists will be contacting you asking you to complete a contractor survey which will enable him / her to collate the flu plan and business continuity plan for the pharmacies within your PCN.  Ideally this should be done by the end of October.  Please make sure you respond quickly to enable your lead pharmacist to collate the plans by early November.

The PSNC guidance recommends that the community pharmacies meet with the PCN lead clinician to discuss these plans. These discussions should take place ideally by the end of November.  Please prioritise these meetings in your diary.
The LPC will facilitate such discussions if required by setting up zoom meetings with relevant people in your PCN area.
If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Coleman at the LPC  (details below).
You will find out which PCN you are aligned with in the link below.
