Central Health Service Ltd (CHSL) will seek opportunities for community pharmacy contractors by tendering for and delivering commissioned services directly or in partnership with other providers in the West Midlands Region.

On behalf of CHSL, the West Midlands LPCs Scrutiny & Oversight Committee (SOC) are seeking applications for FIVE Directors:

  • will represent member contractors, ie those contractors who have applied for and been accepted as members of CHSL. These must be individuals who are member contractors, their directors or employees.
  • will represent LPCs – these need not necessarily be LPC members or officers, however they will represent the relevant LPCs on the Board of CHSL and will be responsible for effective engagement between the LPCs and CHSL, via the SOC

This challenging role will require a commitment of be for TWO days per month over the first three months, then probably for two half-day sessions per month; some flexibility will be required depending on workload. The director appointments are initially for a fixed-term period from 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2018. Administrative support will be provided.

The successful candidates will have:

  • At least three years’ recent experience in a senior managerial role within a relevant community pharmacy contractor company or within relevant public sector or healthcare environment
  • Senior role experience in at least ONE of the following:
    • Commissioning, Tendering, Business cases
    • Finance
    • Human resources/Training & Development
    • Operations
    • Sales/Marketing
    • IT & Communications
    • Project implementation in a multi-site environment

Responsibilities within the Board will be divided between the five directors according to their respective knowledge, skills and experience. They will also possess the drive, vision and commitment to ensuring community pharmacy services continue to be at the heart of health and care provision across the footprint of CHSL, and that the delivery of services produces a return on investment for its members.
