Genomics

Published on: 12th July 2017 | Updated on: 2nd August 2023

Genomic testing is occasionally used at present, e.g. to help determine certain cancer tests which maybe more effective for an individual. As genomic medicine further develops in the years to come, genomics and personalised medicine information might help to further tailor treatments to patients. The NHS has begun to develop a strategy that will begin to consider how to incorporate genomics across medical care.

Genetic conditions factsheets

The Genomics Education Programme has updated and expanded its library of genetic conditions factsheets.

The factsheets have been created for primary care health professionals and clinicians who are looking to learn more about a particular genetic condition, or to refresh their existing knowledge. Each factsheet outlines the key facts of each condition, in addition to information on clinical features, diagnosis, genetic basis and testing, management and treatment.
