Greater Manchester LPC’s Annual General Meeting 2019/20

A copy of our Annual Report and Accounts 2019/2020 can be found here

On Wednesday 30th September, the Greater Manchester LPC (GMLPC) held its first online AGM for GM pharmacists and contractors via Zoom. Despite a very different AGM to previous years, it was a huge success, with 32 attendees tuning in to hear the GMLPC achievements and financial update as well as presentations delivered by our guest speakers Andy Chilton, Director of Velresco, and Nathan Wiltshire, Chief Executive of Cambrian Alliance Group.

You can access the AGM slides here, or listen to the full recorded version here. Alternatively, please see below for segmented versions of the GMLPC update, and the two guest speaker presentations.

GMLPC’s Chair, Aneet Kapoor, welcomed attendees and gave a contextual overview of the LPC’s position in the year 2019/20, before handing over to Treasurer, Mohammed Anwar, who gave an update on GMLPC’s accounts and finances. A copy of the LPC’s Annual Report and Accounts can be found here.

Aneet then reflected on some of the challenges the LPC faced in this year, which included uncertainties around Brexit and medicine shortages, and having to adapt operations to secure the new Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) national contract.

After highlighting some of the ways the LPC continued to support contractors despite these challenges, Aneet passed over to GMLPC’s Vice-Chair, Ifti Khan, who provided an overview of the LPC’s operational structure and how it has changed in the last year.

Aneet provided a summary of the LPC’s key successes and signposted attendees to the launch of Greater Manchester Healthcare Academy’s new online e-learning platform in the GMHA update. The presentation was concluded by summarising steps moving forward for the year 2019/20, and moving onto the contractor vote and results.

We received a total of 245 votes with 100% of contractors accepting the LPC’s accounts and finances for the year 2019/20.
