Upcoming Medical Practice Closure

The temporary arrangement for Old Trafford Medical Practice to be managed by North Trafford Group Practice is coming to an end and Old Trafford Medical Practice will close on Wednesday 28 April 2021.

NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group is working with the practice to arrange for all patients to be automatically transferred to neighbouring Trafford practices. Our key principle is to ensure continuity of safe and effective primary care.

The welfare of patients is our top priority and we can assure everyone that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure those registered at this practice continue to receive high quality care. We have tried and tested systems in place to support patients who are affected by the closure of a GP practice. No patient will be left without care.

Questions and Answers

Healthwatch Survey

Healthwatch are keen to seek views of HCPs working in North Trafford to better understand health inequalities in the locality.

Any contractors currently based in Gorse Hill, Stretford, Longford and Clifford have the opportunity to share their feedback by completing the following survey-

The responses will inform further work in this area and the findings will be used to inform how services respond during and post Covid-19.

Trafford Psychological Therapy

GMMH have provided the below email and a leaflet to inform contractors of the psychological therapies they have on offer;

We are all very much aware of the impact Covid19 is having on our mental health.  Unfortunately, stigma around mental health remains and often people who need the help most are unaware of services/don’t know how to access them and getting a GP appointment to ascertain this information can be difficult.  As many people attend pharmacies and pharmacy staff are an excellent source of support in the community we wondered if you would be able to display our flyers for people to help themselves to, or perhaps to be given should they mention any concerns regarding their mental health.

Trafford Psychological Therapies are a primary care, talking therapies service offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Counselling and Psychology.  We offer support to those over the age of 16 years who are registered with a Trafford GP and present with a common mental health problem.  We accept self-referrals via our website: or by calling 0161 357 1350 and requesting a referral form.

Action for Trafford contractors

Please help raise awareness of these services by displaying the service flyer in your pharmacies. You can either print the flyer yourself or contact to arrange for them to be delivered to your pharmacy.
