COVID-19 Infection Control and Risk Assessments  Important Update

COVID-19 Infection Control and Risk Assessments  Important Update

May 4, 2021

There have been a number of reports that local councils are visiting pharmacies to ensure that  the premises are providing a COVID-19 safe service.

Please ensure you continue to ensure infection control measures, PPE, business continuity plans, hand washing facilities, cleaning schedules, social distancing and appropriate personal and premise risk assessments and SOPs are in place.

Pharmacy teams must do the following:

  • Check they are registered on the national portal to order more PPE – guidance on how to access the portal can be found here under ‘PPE Supplies’.
  • Update opening hours on the NHS website – guidance on closures or making changes to your opening hours can be found here. An emergency closures checklist can be found here
