Stockport: Opportunity for split pre-reg placement with GP practice (deadline 1st Mar)

February 27, 2019

Community pharmacies in Stockport are invited to partner with GP practices to offer split pre-reg pharmacy training posts in 2020/21. The GP federation in Stockport has already submitted an expression of interest to Health Education England in offering split posts with community pharmacies.

If your pharmacy would like to be part of this, you will need to email as soon as possible (preferably by Friday 1st March) so you can be included in the bid. Please put ‘Expressions of interest for joint pre-registration training placements for Summer 2020’ as the email subject and include the name & address of your pharmacy, the name of the pharmacist who would be the pre-reg tutor, and confirmation that they meet the pre-reg tutor requirements. & as a minimum include in your email. This letter and briefing document explains more.

We would advise that you also register your own community pharmacy pre-reg placement(s) separately by the deadline of Friday 1st March if you want to recruit them via the national Oriel system. Read more. That’s because the split pre-reg traineeships are part of a national pilot and it is possible that not all bidders will be invited to take part.

Eight GP practices are involved:

  • Cheadle Hulme Health Centre
  • Dean Lane
  • Brinnington
  • Heaton Moor
  • Cheadle Medical Centre
