NUMSAS (NHS Urgent Medicine Supply Advanced Service)
The NHS Urgent Medicine Supply Advanced Service – or NUMSAS, as it has become known – is a pilot enabling patients to obtain urgent medicines from community pharmacies, where appropriate. It was rolled out in North West England from January 2017.
Eligible patients are referred from NHS 111 to pharmacies providing the service. The service specification and associated guidance provides further information about eligibility, criteria for dispensing medicine through the scheme, and how to claim payment.
