Signposting: Lifestyle / Exercise Referral Hub – Parkwood (Leicester City Public Health)
Leicester City Public Health have commissioned a lifestyle referral hub in the City.
Any patients that need support with diet, exercise , physical inactivity , alcohol misuse can be referred to the lifestyle hub through a simple online referral form.
The patient will receive a telephone consultation l which will identify all their requirements and will be referred by the lifestyle referral hub to specialised services tailored to their needs. This may include free gym membership, dietetic advice, health trainer support , alcohol support and many more services.
This will really help to support patients to prevent disease and promote health and wellbeing in our community.

Free training events now available
The lifestyle referral have also kindly offered Pharmacists and teams the opportunity to undertake level RPSH Level 2 (Royal Society of Public Health Award accreditation) Free Training now available ;
I thought you might be interested to know that we are currently a RSPH (Royal Society of Public Health) registered provider of the Level 2 award in Understanding Health Improvement and I am pleased to be able to offer this training free to staff members. The training is delivered over one day and assessment is by a 45 minute multiple-choice examination consisting of 30 multiple choice questions.
This qualification is aimed at organisations with an interest in the health and wellbeing of their workforce and customer/client groups. It provides an ideal way of equipping key staff with basic health advice and methods of support which they can then use to inform and assist colleagues and/or customers.
This award covers:
- Inequalities in health
- How effective communication can support health messages
- Importance of promoting improvements in health and well being
- Impact of behaviour change on health and well being

Please note a charge of £50 will be made for those who do not attend the course without informing us prior within 24 hours of the start of the course.
