Flu Service 2020/21 Updates

1. Flu Vaccination Campaign Materials are on their way to community pharmacies

Resources for the first mandated Public Health Campaign of 2020/21, which all community pharmacy contractors are required to participate in, will have started to arrive by courier from Friday 9th October.

Note: ALL Pharmacy Contractors are mandatory required to participate in this campaign


2. Health and Social Care Staff

Just a reminder that the following cohorts of health and social care workers are eligible for flu vaccination under the pharmacy service:

  • Health and social care staff employed by a registered residential care/nursing home or registered domiciliary care provider.
  • Health and social care staff employed by a voluntary managed hospice provider.
  • Health and social care workers employed through Direct Payments (personal budgets) and/or Personal Health Budgets, such as Personal Assistants, to deliver domiciliary care to patients and service users.

It is very important that these staff are vaccinated to protect their vulnerable patients/clients from flu.
