Pandemic delivery service ending soon

Pandemic delivery service ending soon

November 30, 2020

Pharmacy contractors are reminded that the Pandemic Delivery Service is commissioned only until Thursday 3rd December 2020.

Deliveries to shielded patients can continue to be made under the service until the end of the day on 2nd December, as this follows the end of the national lockdown on 2nd December, when clinically extremely vulnerable patients will no longer be advised to shield themselves.

Further guidance is available on the following Government website page:

To clarify, the document references deliveries if people are told to shield, but that is in a specific section on shielding and it says this will only be activated in certain circumstances and relevant patients will be written to, to advise them to shield. At present, no shielding will be put in place from the end of lockdown 2.
