Medicines Support Service
Due to Covid-19 Norfolk Medicine Support Service are adhering to government guidance and are unable to undertake face to face assessments with patients in their own homes. The service is keen to continue to ensure that patients receive support with avoidance of hospital admissions, and so for patients deemed as high risk in non-medicine compliance where possible telephone assessments will be undertaken. We will endeavour to be pragmatic in our approach to prevent pharmacies having to produce additional workload by filling MDS. Where MDS is required then the NMS team will speak to pharmacies in the first instance to agree capacity to support.
The distribution of compliance aids will continue to be dispatched with minimal disruption to service. – we thank you for your understanding
Norfolk are very lucky to have a service designed to assess and cater for those who have issues in taking their medicines which go beyond simple adjustments in the pharmacy.
