Six community pharmacies in Milton Keynes were invited to deliver the STP prevention pilot:

The wards of greatest need for such an intervention were determined by Public Health.

The relevent documents pertaining to the pilot can be found on this page. In brief, the service can be summarised as:

Pilot duration: to start mid – February till end of April 2018.

  • Screenings – to aim to undertake 120 BP/AF screenings throughout the course of the pilot (per site).
  • Income – predicated on the expected prevalence of 31% unidentified BP/AF this could result in £2,900 per Pharmacy (as per payment structure £15 normal reading/£45 abnormal reading).
  • Equipment – all equipment will be provided with brief onsite training.
  • Training – an overview of pilot/resources will be discussed at pilot start up meeting
