Expression of Interest: Community Pharmacist Support Flu Vaccination for Care Homes – October 2020

October 6, 2020

Nottinghamshire LPC have been working with The Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System Vaccination Planning and Delivery Group on how they can achieve the targets for care home staff and residents flu vaccinations.  They are asking for expressions of interest for the following service from community pharmacists (attached information).    The pharmacist will be working alongside registered nurses from ECRT and will be allocated care homes from the 368 in Nottinghamshire.

Funding will be for 4 weeks of a pharmacists time at approximately £250 per day backfill plus the cost of the vaccine and admin fee via the NHS England National Service and will be recorded using PharmOutcomes.  The vaccine supply will need to come from the community pharmacy stock.

The LPC are aware that it will be unlikely that a single pharmacy would be able to cover the whole 4 weeks and there is no defined delivery model so if you feel that you can only do a certain area i.e. Newark & Sherwood or Mansfield or have more than one pharmacist that you wish to provide the service on certain days, then still send through an expression of interest indicating how you propose to deliver the vaccines

If you have queries then please contact the LPC first so we can help prior to sending through your expression of interest to Esther.
