ACTNow Wellbeing Campaign for pharmacy staff returns

Pharmacist Support is relaunching the ACTNow campaign, which helps pharmacists and pharmacy teams to prioritise their wellbeing.

Community pharmacists and their teams are under more pressure than ever before as staff shortages, demand for services and advice, and wider workload and funding issues all take their toll. In a recent Workforce Wellbeing survey, nine out of ten pharmacists told Pharmacist Support they are at risk of burnout, and seven out of ten pharmacists felt that their mental health and wellbeing has been negatively affected by work. PSNC’s recent Pharmacy Pressures Survey also confirmed that the unsustainable pressures on the sector are having a serious impact on pharmacy teams’ wellbeing.

As the profession’s independent charity, Pharmacist Support wants to encourage pharmacy organisations, teams and individuals to be part of a workforce culture shift through its latest ACTNow campaign.

The ActNow campaign, running from 25th September until 22nd October, will this year focus on breaking the silence of mental health and wellbeing, transforming workplace cultures, developing the pharmacy team, and prioritising individual wellbeing.

Pharmacy staff who sign-up for the campaign will receive free, weekly, dedicated wellbeing information from Pharmacist Support alongside practical resources specifically for pharmacy organisations, teams and individuals. This will include short panel chat videos with key figures from across the sector, stories from fellow colleagues about mental health and wellbeing, guidance for managers on supporting their staff and resources to help individuals prioritise their own wellbeing.

PSNC is supporting this campaign and encourages all pharmacy staff to take some time to take care of themselves if they can.
