C-19 test distribution service: update on ordering limits

C-19 test distribution service: update on ordering limits

April 9, 2021

Supplies of lateral flow devices (LFDs) for use in the NHS community pharmacy COVID-19 distribution service are initially being limited to one carton per pharmacy per day. This is to support the equitable distribution of tests to all the community pharmacies that have signed up to provide the service.

The level of demand for tests had been difficult to predict, particularly in the early days of the service. As referred to in the Service Specification, the weekly order limit is subject to review and will continue to be monitored and updated in the early days of the service to ensure stock levels are managed appropriately and meet the high level of demand.
