Can you help NHS Digital’s cyber security pilot?

August 20, 2019

NHS Digital is seeking community pharmacy contractors to take part in a cyber and data security pilot.

The NHS Digital data security centre will be working with cyber company, Templars, to contact and visit a selection of different types of pharmacy (e.g. independents, small chains and multiples). Collated findings from the visits will help to inform future cyber security guidance for pharmacies and ongoing work with pharmacy system suppliers.

PSNC and the Community Pharmacy IT Group (CP ITG) are encouraging contractors to take part. Participation in the pilot will help you to consider your pharmacy’s cyber and data arrangements. The findings of calls or visits will be anonymised, and cyber and data security recommendations will be provided for you to consider.

Contractors that wish to find out more or take part can contact PSNC’s Community Pharmacy IT Lead, Dan Ah-Thion. Note, volunteers may be chosen on a ‘first-come-first-served basis’.

If you are interested in sharing your views on wider digital, IT and EPS developments with PSNC, please consider joining the Community Pharmacy Digital mailing group.
