Community Pharmacy Patient Safety Group safety culture survey

THIS CONTENT HAS NOW EXPIRED

The Community Pharmacy Patient Safety Group is inviting community pharmacy teams to complete a short survey on the culture of safety reporting within the sector.

This anonymous survey has been designed to gather information on frontline teams’ perspectives of the culture around safety reporting, the enablers and barriers to reporting, the clarity of the reporting processes, and the confidence of those reporting. The survey results will also enable the Group to assess whether attitudes to safety reporting have changed since the survey was last conducted in 2019. You can view a summary of the findings from the 2019 survey here.

Commenting on the survey, Janice Perkins, the Chair of the Community Pharmacy Patient Safety Group, said:

“We know that Community pharmacies deliver incredibly safe care. But, sharing when things go wrong is an essential part of improving practice in the pharmacy and helping our teams and the wider health care sector learn from mistakes.

This survey will allow us to understand better how pharmacy teams can be further supported to report safety incidents and in doing so improve safety for our patients.”

The survey will remain open until 15th October 2021.
