Contractors advised to ensure sufficient stock of Upjohn products to cover demand until end of December
Due to a change in the distribution model of Upjohn UK Limited (“Upjohn”) products community pharmacy teams are being advised to ensure they have stock levels of Upjohn UK Limited products to cover any demand until the end of December 2021.
Currently the Upjohn product portfolio is available via Alliance Healthcare Distribution Ltd.
From 1st January 2022, purchases of the Upjohn prescription only products detailed in the communication here should be made via their reduced wholesale partners:
- Alliance Healthcare Distribution Ltd
- AAH Pharmaceuticals Ltd
- Phoenix Healthcare Distribution Ltd
To facilitate the transition, following the morning deliveries on 24th December 2021, based on final orders received by your wholesaler order cut-off time on 23rd December 2021, Upjohn will cease Direct to Pharmacy sales and transition to a Reduced Wholesaler Model through Viatris.
As Direct to Pharmacy sales will cease from 24th December 2021 (for orders received by the wholesalers cut off time on 23rd December), community pharmacy teams should ensure they have stock available to cover any demand until the end of December 2021 after which purchases should be made through the Reduced Wholesaler service providers.
There is no facility to order emergency stock between 24th December 2021 and 1st January 2022.
With effect from 1st January 2022, the business of Upjohn UK Limited (“Upjohn”) will be transferred to Viatris, so that all UK Viatris commercial activities operate under one single legal trading entity. Upjohn will cease to trade from this date.
