Contractors: time is running out – make sure you have claimed for CPCS consultations

Contractors: time is running out – make sure you have claimed for CPCS consultations

May 18, 2020

When contractors provide the NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS), the CPCS IT system (Sonar or PharmOutcomes) will pre-populate the Manage Your Service (MYS) portal with the number of completed consultations at the end of the month. This enables the contractor to then submit a claim for payment as part of their end of month submission to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).

Further to the PSNC news story on the 29th April 2020, the NHSBSA has subsequently informed PSNC that there are still around 750 contractors that have pending claims for CPCS consultations within the MYS portal, which were conducted in October and November 2019, but which have yet to be submitted for payment. Contractors must submit their CPCS payment claim for October and November 2019 consultations by 31st May 2020, otherwise the funding will be lost to the contractor (claims will only be accepted by the NHSBSA within six months of completion of a referral, in accordance with the usual Drug Tariff claims process).

We urge all contractors to ensure they are submitting claims for CPCS consultations on a monthly basis and suggest they check within MYS that there are no outstanding claims for previous months that have not yet been submitted.
