CPPE publishes winter edition of CSfPP newsletter

January 9, 2019

The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has published the winter edition of the Consultation Skills for Pharmacy Practice (CSfPP) newsletter.

In the ‘What’s new?’ section of the newsletter it is highlighted that the CSfPP e-assessment has been updated to allow learners who have previously passed to re-attempt the assessment. This will give them the opportunity to re-visit and reflect on their skills and behaviours.

In the coming months, CPPE is looking to expand the consultation skills portfolio with updated resources including videos of group discussions between healthcare professionals and patients on person-centred approaches. Additionally, CPPE is also developing learning resources relating to telephone consultations to ensure a patient-centred approach is maintained when not consulting face-to-face.

Pharmacy professionals are reminded that when completing a Declaration of Competence (DoC) for a specific service, such as completion of the Vaccinations DoC to enable pharmacists to provide the Flu Vaccination Advanced Service, they are declaring that they are actively working towards the CSfPP standards. It is expected that they will have accessed the CSfPP standards and associated learning to meet this requirement and that the e-assessment is completed within 12 months of signing the service’s DoC statement.

The newsletter is published every quarter; to subscribe, visit the CSfPP website.
