September 16, 2019

Cancer Research UK has developed behavioural change and cancer prevention e-learning to help pharmacy teams make effective smoking cessation interventions. The 30-minute guide supports pharmacy teams to use Very Brief Advice (VBA) to trigger a successful quit attempt in just 30 seconds.

As well as the e-learning, Cancer Research UK, has published a short guide on effective smoking cessation interventions in their latest Pharmacy Insight newsletter.

The free module and short guide have been released in time for Stoptober – which community pharmacies are required to participate in as part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework – and can be used alongside the by Public Health England. The Stoptober campaign runs from 1st October – 31st October 2019.

Pharmacy team members can sign up to receive Cancer Research UK’s regular Pharmacy Insight newsletter on the Cancer Research UK website.
