How well prepared is your pharmacy for severe weather?

March 5, 2019

Answer a quick national survey, with an opportunity to win £100 for a local charity of your choice.  This will help the NHS and Public Health understand how to reduce risks to health and care services.

The series of winter storms and then the summer heatwave last year, are a timely reminder of the increasing importance of preparation for extremes of weather. In 2014 PSNC published resources for business continuity planning in pharmacies, including severe weather.

Every 5 years, as part of the Government’s legal obligations under the Climate Change Act, the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs conducts a review of how prepared critical services and facilities are to the increasing risks posed by severe weather.

The Sustainable Development Unit for health and social care (SDU) is funded by NHS England and Public Health England to lead on environmental issues. The SDU are asking primary and social care providers to complete a short online survey (10 minutes) to give anonymous information about any experiences you have of severe weather and preparations, plans or investments you have made to reduce risks.

Complete the SDU survey

The survey is being conducted by Enventure Research for the SDU and the closing date for responses is 19th April 2019.

As thanks for answering the quick survey, Enventure Research will also be conducting a prize draw with three winners chosen at random. If you are selected, a donation of £100 will be made on your behalf to a charity of your choice. If you wish, this donation may be anonymous.
