Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification for Ciprofloxacin 0.3% / dexamethasone 0.1% ear drops.

- Ciprofloxacin 0.3% / dexamethasone 0.1% ear drops are out of stock until mid-March 2022.
- Cetraxal Plus® (ciprofloxacin 0.3%, fluocinolone acetonide 0.025%), the only other licensed ear drop
containing ciprofloxacin with a steroid component, remains available and can support a partial uplift in
demand. - Cetraxal® (ciprofloxacin 0.2%) ear drops also remain available and can support a full uplift in demand.
A copy of this medicine supply notification, including further information, has been sent to all pharmacy NHS email addresses.
The DHSC Medicine Supply Team provide a monthly update on potential supply issues affecting both primary and secondary care. This update is uploaded on the Specialist Pharmacy Services (SPS) website.
