Medicine Supply Notification: Ciprofloxacin 0.3% / dexamethasone 0.1% ear drops

Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification for Ciprofloxacin 0.3% / dexamethasone 0.1% ear drops.

Date of issue 15th February 2022

  • Ciprofloxacin 0.3% / dexamethasone 0.1% ear drops are out of stock until mid-March 2022.
  • Cetraxal Plus® (ciprofloxacin 0.3%, fluocinolone acetonide 0.025%), the only other licensed ear drop
    containing ciprofloxacin with a steroid component, remains available and can support a partial uplift in
    demand.
  • Cetraxal® (ciprofloxacin 0.2%) ear drops also remain available and can support a full uplift in demand.

The DHSC Medicine Supply Team provide a monthly update on potential supply issues affecting both primary and secondary care.
