Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification on the 25 September 2020 for Zonisamide 50mg and 100mg capsules (Teva)

Teva are out of stock of zonisamide 50mg and 100mg capsules until late November 2020.

Teva remain in stock of zonisamide 25mg capsules but cannot support any increase in demand on this strength.

All strengths of zonisamide capsules remain available from Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Eisai Ltd.

Where patients have insufficient supplies of zonisamide 50mg and /or 100mg capsules (Teva) to last until the re-supply date, clinicians should work with local pharmacy teams to understand the availability of alternative manufacturer’s zonisamide 50mg and 100mg capsules and prescribe accordingly.

The DHSC Medicine Supply Team provide a monthly update on potential supply issues affecting both primary and secondary care. This update is uploaded on the Specialist Pharmacy Services (SPS) website. To register, you will need  an NHS email address. Once set up and logged in, you will be able to access it online.
