A new Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) Drug Safety Update (Vol 12 Issue 7  February 2019:1) has been published and includes articles on:

  • Carbimazole: Increased risk of congenital malformations; strengthened advice on contraception.
  • Carbimazole: risk of acute pancreatitis.
  • SGLT2 inhibitiors: reports of Fournier’s gangrene (necrotising fasciitis of the genitalia or perineum).
  • Letters and drug alerts sent to healthcare professionals in Januray 2019.
  • Medical Device Alerts issued in January 2019.
